The Axkid Minikid is an exclusively rear facing car seat, for use with a 5-point harness for children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years old.
Axkid Minikid receives excellent reviews from several independent test institutes. With Swedish Plus Test approval up to 25kg, the “Good Choice 2019” award from Folksam, “Best Cost Value” by Best-in-Test.se and Rollover approval by VCA.
Axkid Minikid Installation
The Minikid can install on any of the vehicles seats, using the car’s three-point seat belt. You may install it in the front passenger seat if necessary, as long as you can switch off the airbags.
The Axkid car seats’ compact design takes up very little room in the car. With it measuring 44cm wide, 62cm high, 56cm deep and weighing 14,1kg. This means those who couldn’t fit an extended rear facing seat in their car, now can.
Minikid Features
The Minikid features self-tensioning lower tether straps. They make it easy to secure the seat by simply rocking it until the base no longer moves. The lower tether straps come with the seat. You can purchase a second set of tethers to allow you to move the seat between cars easily.
The Minikid has an auto-adjusting headrest and harness. This ensures the seat is set up perfectly for your child every time they get into it. There are seven headrest levels, so your child should fit comfortably in the seat until roughly 125cm or 6 years old (as long as their weight is under 25kg).
Adjustments
The adjustable front leg offers 5 recline positions to find the perfect angle for your child. You can purchase the Axkid Angle Adjusting Wedge for smaller children or steeper vehicle seats.
The ability to position the Minikid close to the backrest, or with the base lip over the edge of the vehicle seat also allows more convenient positioning, depending on your child’s leg length and the space in your car.
Deep side wings provide a very high level of safety in the event of side impact collision, and the specialised Axkid Side Impact Protection (ASIP) easily clips onto the side of the seat to provide further protection.
The cover is easy to remove and replace, using zips and press studs to keep it firmly in place, and is machine-washable at 30°.
